Complaint and Grievance Policy

At MercyMe Sober Living, we are committed to transparency, accountability, and fair treatment for all individuals involved with our organization, both residents and external parties alike. Our Public Grievance Policy outlines the process for addressing complaints or grievances from outside parties and aligns with the procedures outlined for our residents. We encourage open communication and provide avenues for submitting grievances in writing via mail, email, or fax.

For the public, staff, and all third parties:

  • To submit a complaint or grievance, individuals can do so in writing via mail, email, or fax. We encourage providing detailed information about the issue experienced. Upon receiving the complaint or grievance, the appropriate authority within MercyMe Sober Living will promptly review it and take necessary steps to address the concerns raised. Our commitment is to provide a supportive environment for all parties involved, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the resolution process.
  • Confidentiality is of utmost importance to us, and all information provided will be treated with the highest level of confidentiality and shared only on a need-to-know basis. We welcome feedback on our policy and resolution process and encourage individuals to reach out to MercyMe Sober Living management with any inquiries or suggestions for improvement.

For Program Residents:

In the event of a complaint or grievance while residing at MercyMe Sober Living, residents are encouraged to follow our structured process for resolution.

  • A Complaint Grievance Form is available at all houses for this purpose.
  • If the house manager is unavailable or perceived as an obstacle to resolution, residents may submit the form directly to the Program Director. It is emphasized that no other staff members or parties should receive the form.
  • Upon receipt of the completed form, it will be promptly reviewed by the appropriate party.
  • A discussion will then be scheduled with the resident to understand the nature of the complaint and work together to find a suitable solution.•
  • The aim of this process is to address concerns effectively and ensure a supportive environment for all residents.

This policy is subject to regular review to ensure its effectiveness and relevance, with necessary updates or revisions made as required. For any inquiries or to submit a complaint or grievance, please contact MercyMe Sober Living in writing via mail at Post Office Box 2161, Beaufort, SC 29903, via email at grievances@mercymesober.org, or by phone/fax at ‪(843) 212-6002‬.
